Health Care Accessibility & Affordability Too many Americans are without adequate health insurance. But the solution is not increasing the numbers of Americans dependent upon the government. The real solution is in removing government barriers to individuals and companies buying insurance across state lines, expanding health savings accounts, and limiting ambulance chasing. |

Foreign Policy & National Defense Diplomacy is a vital tool in solving many of the world's problems. Unfortunately, the world is a dangerous place, and there are rogue states who will not negotiate with us in good faith. Accordingly, Maria believes diplomacy must be backed up with a strong national defense to serve as a deterrent to dictatorial regimes and sponsors of terror. |

Energy Independence & Protecting the Environment We send too many dollars overseas to unfriendly nations in exchange for their energy supplies - especially oil. If we want to not be dependent upon such countries for our way of life, we must pursue every energy source available to us - including clean coal, offshore oil, natural gas, nuclear energy, biofuels, and wind and solar - and do so in an enviromentally-friendly manner. |

Educating Our Children Maria believes that our children deserve a world-class education regardless of where they live in America. She will work for solutions that promote parental guidance in their children's education - including supporting vouchers so parents can send their child to best school in their area. Additionally, Maria believes in maintaining local control over schools and encouraging national standards in core curricula. |

Caring for Our Veterans We are free thanks to the sacrifices our veterans have made for us. As a result, Maria believes that we owe it to our veterans to take care of them - especially when it comes to recovering from life-changing war-related injuries. Maria will work to ensure full-funding of our miliary hospitals and programs geared to help our veterans rejoin the civilian workforce. |

Immigration Immigration helps our economy grow. Unfortunately, current law limits those immigrants from coming who help our economy grow the fastest. Maria supports a special visa program for entrepreneurs who want to come here to start new businesses and create jobs for Americans. She also supports a strengthened Border Patrol to help keep our borders secure. |

Life & Liberty Maria believes that government is at its best when it governs least and preserves the principles listed in the Declaration of Independence - the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. She is pro-life, supports the 2nd Amendment, and traditional family values. She believes America's best days are ahead of it. |
